Baking Pot Pies

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Remove pot pie from freezer.  Discard the outer plastic container and the inner plastic wrapping.  Place on baking sheet in oven.  Bake as follows:

 

Small (6” diameter):       50 – 60 minutes

Medium (8” diameter):  60 – 75 minutes

Large (10” diameter):     80 - 90 minutes

 

Allow all sizes to cool for 15 minutes prior to serving.

 

Refrigerate any unused portions.  Reheat in oven or toaster oven only.

Cream Pie Fillings

Just Pies uses whole milk, fresh farm eggs, grade AA butter, and makes the meringue from scratch using egg whites.  Bananas are received fresh every morning and the key lime juice is sourced from Key West, Florida.

Crumb Topping

The Apple Crumb and Cherry Crumb pies are covered with a sweet streusel topping made with flour, butter, sugar, egg yolks, brown sugar and vanilla.

Freezing Pies

Our fresh baked French Silk, Buckeye and Pecan pies can be frozen.  Place the boxed pie in the freezer and remove when contents are frozen solid. Take the pie from the box and wrap it tightly in cling wrap.  Return the pie to the box and the box to the freezer.  The pie can remain frozen for 30 days.

Defrost the frozen pie in the refrigerator 24 hours before serving.

 

We do not recommend freezing any other fruit or cream pies.

Freshness

Fruit pies:  Shelf life is 3 days from purchase.  Refrigeration is NOT recommended.

 

Cream pies and the Strawberry Cream Cheese pie: Shelf life is 2 days from purchase.  Refrigerate immediately after purchase.

 

Pot pies:  Shelf life is 90 days from purchase.  Pies are frozen at time of purchase and must remain so until ready to bake. DO NOT defrost.

Fruit Pie Fillings

Just Pies uses fresh picked fruit that has been cleaned and then individually quick frozen (IQF).

 

We use Michigan apples (Northern Spy and Ida Red), blueberries and cherries, and California peaches. 

 

Fresh strawberries are used for the seasonal Strawberry Cream Cheese pie.

 

The seasonal Pumpkin pie is made using canned pumpkin.

Gluten Free

Just Pies DOES NOT offer gluten-free products

Mince Pie

The seasonal Mince Pie does NOT contain any meat.  Raisins, apples, orange and lemon peel, cinnamon and other spices are used in the pie filling.

Oat Crunch Topping

The ABC (Apple-Blueberry-Cherry) pie, the Razzleberry pie and the Cherry Cream Cheese pie have an oat crunch topping, made from oats, brown sugar, flour and butter.

Peanuts

Just Pies does not guarantee that its products are peanut-free

Pie Crust Ingredients

Just Pies uses flour, a touch of sugar and lard to make its pie crusts.

Seeds

Our berry pies contain seeds. 

Serving Sizes

A large (10’ diameter) pie will yield 8 to 10 servings.

 

A medium (8” diameter) pie will yield 6 to 8 servings

 

A small (6” diameter) pie will yield 2 to 3 servings.

Storing Pies

Fruit pies are best stored on your counter, at room temperature.  Refrigeration of fruit pies is not recommended.

 

Cream pies should be refrigerated upon arrival.

 

Pot pies should remain frozen until ready to bake.

Sugar Substitute

Just Pies uses sucralose to flavor its “No Sugar Added" pies.

Vegan/Vegetarian 

Just Pies DOES NOT offer any vegan or vegetarian products.
